Discount Policy:
- • Only ONE discount can be applied per move
- • Discounts cannot be combined or stacked
- • Must mention discount code at time of booking
- • Deposit must be paid to lock in discount
- • Discounts apply to labor only, not supplies or equipment
- • Same-day bookings do not qualify
- • Military/Senior discounts require valid ID

- All moves are billed hourly with a 2-hour minimum.
- 2 Movers $250/hr • 3 Movers $275/hr.
- Clock starts when movers arrive and ends when the last item is placed.
- If your move exceeds the estimated time, you are responsible for additional hours.
- Movers track time, but clients must monitor their own time-budget.
- If you do not stop us at your booked hours, work continues and you are billed for all time used.
- We do not provide a truck.
- Client must provide a suitable vehicle: U-Haul, pickup, trailer, or rental truck.
Client must provide:
- Safe, clear walkways
- Open driveways / loading zones
- Parking close to the entrance
- Accurate info about stairs, distance, and heavy items
- Climate-safe pathways in winter (ice removal)
Blocked or unsafe access may add time or fees.
- We pack only items requested by the client.
- Fragile items must be labeled.
- We cannot pack hazardous chemicals, flammables, ammunition, prescription medications, or live animals.
Oversized fees apply to:
- Pianos
- Gun safes
- Large appliances
- Treadmills
- Extra-heavy couches
- Pool tables
Some items may be refused for safety due to weight, shape, or building layout.
- If conditions are unsafe (ice, lightning, hazards), services may be delayed or rescheduled.
- Unsafe lifting or dangerous environments may be declined.
- We are licensed and insured.
- Customer-packed boxes travel at customer's risk.
- Pre-existing damage is not the responsibility of Tinsley's Moving.
- Unstable, loose, or poorly packed items may not be covered.
- Claim concerns must be reported immediately.
- Shrink wrap, blankets, and padding can be added as equipment rentals.
- Client is responsible for requesting required protection materials before the move begins.
Missing Supplies & Protection Policy
If we arrive and you do not have the proper moving supplies (boxes, tape, blankets, wrap, padding, straps, mattress covers, etc.), we will offer to provide them at our standard supply rates.
If supplies are declined:
- We will move items as-is using the materials you provide.
- We are not responsible for damage to furniture, TVs, mattresses, appliances, or breakables that were not properly protected.
- Some items may be refused if moving them without protection is unsafe or will likely cause damage.
If supplies are required for safe moving, we may require purchasing:
- Blankets
- Shrink wrap
- Straps
- TV protection kits
- Mattress bags
- Box packs
If you do not want to purchase supplies and the item is unsafe to move unprotected, we may decline to move that item.
Why this matters:
Proper protection prevents scratches, dents, breaks, and injuries. Moving unprotected items creates risk for both your belongings and the crew.
Stairs & Long Carry Policy
Fees apply for moves requiring:
- Multiple flights of stairs
- Long walks from truck to door
- Elevators with delays
- Tight or restricted access
Stair/long carry fees range $25–$40.
- Be present or have a responsible adult on-site.
- Give clear instructions on what moves and what stays.
- Track time-budget if you don't want to exceed booked hours.
- Secure pets, kids, and valuables.
- Ensure payment is available at job completion.
- All purchased supplies are yours to keep.
- Delivery without a moving appointment = $75 fee.
- We operate in most weather conditions.
- Severe storms, ice, or unsafe conditions may require rescheduling.
We reserve the right to refuse unsafe work, hostile environments, or illegal/unsafe items.
Before Movers Arrive
- Pack all loose items into boxes
- Seal boxes with tape
- Label boxes by room
- Remove items from dresser drawers
- Disconnect electronics & bundle cords
- Unplug appliances
- Clear pathways inside and outside
- Secure pets and children
- Reserve parking or loading area
- Unlock elevators if needed
- Have keys and gate codes ready
- Charge your phone fully
What to Have Ready
- Keys to both locations

- Truck or U-Haul rental receipt
- A clear list of what moves and what stays
- Your phone fully charged
Protection & Supplies
- Boxes packed tightly
- Fragile items wrapped

During the Move
- Stay available for questions
- Direct movers where items go
- Track your time-budget if you don't want to exceed booked hours
- Notify movers immediately if you want to stop at your scheduled hours
- Double-check closets, drawers, garage, backyard, storage
Before Leaving the Old Location
- Walk through each room
- Check closets & cabinets
- Confirm nothing is left behind
- Lock all doors & windows
At the New Location
- Show movers where items go
- Mark boxes by room
- Direct placement of large furniture
- Add assembly requests if needed
- Verify all items arrived safely
After the Move
- Settle final payment (due immediately)
- Leave a review if you had a great experience
